Delete your FilmGrid account

This page explains how to delete your account in the FilmGrid app (by FilmGrid), and which data is deleted or kept.

Delete in the app

  1. Open the FilmGrid app and sign in.
  2. Open the Profile tab and scroll to Account.
  3. Tap Delete account, read the summary, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete account.

If you can't access the app, email support@filmgrid.in with the subject “Delete my account” and the mobile number registered to your account. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder (for example with a one-time password) before deleting anything.

Before you delete

  • Finish any rental that is in progress (gear picked up but not yet returned) or a quick rental a lender has accepted. The app won't delete the account until these are complete.
  • Rental requests that are still pending are cancelled automatically.
  • Settle any outstanding payments or disputes.

If something is still open, the app tells you what needs to be finished first.

What we delete

  • Your profile details: mobile number, email, photo, bio and location. Your name is replaced with “Deleted user”.
  • Your crew and store profiles, your wishlist and your profile photos.
  • Your device and push-notification tokens.
  • Your sign-in account: you are signed out and can no longer sign in with it.

Your equipment, location and used-gear listings are taken down and no longer shown to anyone.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Transaction, invoice, tax and payout records — kept as required by Indian tax and accounting laws (currently up to eight years).
  • KYC records for lenders, stores and sellers — kept for the period required by law, then deleted.
  • Data linked to open disputes, chargebacks, fraud or legal requests — kept until the matter is closed.
  • Backups — deleted data is removed from rolling backups within [30] days.

Retained records are kept securely, used only for these legal and financial purposes, and deleted when the retention period ends.

How long it takes

In-app deletions take effect immediately for your public profile and listings. Remaining personal data is removed within [30] days. Email requests are completed within [30] days of verification.
