Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and FilmGrid. By creating an account or using the app or website you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. What FilmGrid is

FilmGrid is an online marketplace that lets users rent gear, book shoot locations, post and apply for jobs and gigs, and buy and sell equipment. FilmGrid is an intermediary: listings, jobs and items are offered by users, and the agreement for each rental, booking, job or sale is between the users involved. FilmGrid is not a party to those agreements except as described in these terms.

2. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law.
• You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time password. Keep your phone and account secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date. One person or business per account.

3. Verification (KYC)

Lenders, stores, sellers and location owners must complete identity and bank verification before they can list or receive payouts. Verification reduces risk but is not a guarantee of any user's conduct, the condition of any item or the accuracy of any listing.

4. Listings

• You must own, or be authorised to rent or sell, everything you list, and describe it accurately, including its condition, accessories and any defects.
• Prices, deposits, availability, pickup and return terms you set form part of your offer.
• We may review, edit for formatting, or remove listings that break these terms or the law.

5. Rentals and location bookings

• Renters must use gear and locations with care, for the agreed purpose and period, follow any house rules, and return gear on time in the same condition.
• Lenders and hosts must provide gear or spaces as described, in working and safe condition, at the agreed time.
• Check gear at pickup and return together and record its condition in the app. Damage, loss and late returns are handled under the booking terms and our dispute process; the renter is responsible for damage or loss during the rental period beyond normal wear.
• Any damage protection or insurance offered through FilmGrid is subject to its own terms, limits and exclusions, which will be shown before you book. [Confirm cover provider and terms.]

6. Jobs and gigs

Job posters are responsible for the accuracy of their posts, for paying agreed fees and for safe working conditions. Crew are responsible for the work they agree to do. FilmGrid is not the employer of any user.

7. Marketplace sales

Sellers must have the right to sell, describe items honestly, and ship or hand over items as agreed. Buyers should inspect items on delivery and raise issues through the app within the stated window.

8. Payments, fees and payouts

• Payments are processed by Razorpay. FilmGrid does not store your card, UPI or bank login details.
• Prices are in Indian Rupees and include or exclude GST as shown at checkout.
• FilmGrid may charge a service fee, shown before you pay. [Set fee structure.]
• Lenders, hosts and sellers receive payouts to their verified bank account or UPI after the rental, booking or sale is completed, less fees and any amounts withheld for disputes, refunds or legal requirements (such as TDS/TCS where applicable).
• Security deposits, if any, are refunded after return, less agreed deductions.

9. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellation and refund rules are shown on each listing and at checkout. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Razorpay; bank processing times apply. [Set cancellation policy.]

10. Things you must not do

• Break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or list stolen, counterfeit, illegal or unsafe items.
• Take payments or transactions for FilmGrid bookings off the platform.
• Post false, misleading, abusive, discriminatory or sexually explicit content, or harass other users.
• Create fake accounts, reviews or listings, or impersonate anyone.
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or interfere with the service or its security.

11. Your content

You own the content you post. You give FilmGrid a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and adapt it to operate and promote the service. You are responsible for having the rights to what you post.

12. Reviews and disputes between users

Reviews must be honest and based on a real transaction. If something goes wrong, contact the other user first, then raise a dispute in the app. We may review evidence from both sides and decide how held funds are released, but we are not obliged to resolve every dispute.

13. Suspension and termination

You can stop using FilmGrid and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, create risk for others, or where required by law. Obligations for completed or pending transactions survive termination.

14. Disclaimers and liability

FilmGrid is provided “as is”. To the extent allowed by law, we do not guarantee any listing, user, item, location or outcome, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to FilmGrid in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

15. Indemnity

You agree to compensate FilmGrid for losses and claims arising from your breach of these terms, your listings or content, or your dealings with other users.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [city], India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have.

17. Grievances and changes

Complaints can be sent to our Grievance Officer at support@filmgrid.in. We may update these terms; we will change the “Last updated” date and notify you in the app of significant changes. Continuing to use FilmGrid after changes take effect means you accept them.
